Deeply saddened by the crisis the Gulf Coast is facing, we are currently accepting undergraduate fine art students who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina.
The Corcoran College of Art + Design recognizes the contributions that the Gulf Coast region has made to the American artistic tradition since the founding of this country, and continues to make to this day. The absence of the Gulf Coast arts community will be felt to the detriment of arts communities throughout the United States. This region has produced many Corcoran students, faculty, and staff, which broadens the scope of the tragedy, and brings it especially close to home.
The Corcoran College of Art and Design, in keeping with its mission of producing artistic excellence is ready to help out in any way, however small. We have instituted a now policy allowing students of Gulf Coast area arts colleges who have been affected to enroll at the Corcoran.
On a space-available basis, acceptance will include full tuition and housing for one semester of study. The Corcoran College of Art + Design, founded in 1890, is the only professional college of art and design in Washington, DC and is a vital force in the nation’s art education community. Please contact our Office of Admissions at 202.639.1814 for more information and an application.
