The Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design announces the cancellation of its free Jazz at the Corcoran series on the first Wednesday of the month hosted in the
Frances and Armand Hammer Auditorium. “Due to the economic downturn, the Corcoran is no longer able to fund our free lunchtime jazz series, but remains optimistic that the institution will be in a position to reinstate it in the future,” said Director and President Paul Greenhalgh. “We are deeply appreciative of our long-standing supporters and loyal audience members.”
Established in 1992, Jazz at the Corcoran has historically been supported by the George L. Shields Foundation; The Recording Industry’s Music Performance Fund, as arranged by the Musicians Local 161-710, American Federation of Musicians; Dallas Morse Coors Foundation; and contributions from attendees.
